Sarah Julia Shahparast, OTR/L

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

About Me

Sarah Suffir Shahparast, MS, OTR/L is a dedicated occupational therapist specializing in working with children with disabilities. Licensed in both New Jersey and New York, Sarah holds a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University.

With nearly a decade of experience serving pediatric populations in esteemed New York City schools, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals, Sarah returned to her home state of New Jersey to establish a thriving private practice.

At the core of Sarah's practice is her firm belief that every child's needs are unique. She finds joy in working creatively with children, fostering their development of fundamental skills through innovative and individualized techniques.

Throughout her career, Sarah has remained committed to ensuring that a child's journey towards growth and development is not only productive but also fun and enriching. By incorporating enjoyable and challenging activities, she builds solid foundations with a focus on functional and meaningful outcomes.

To provide a wholistic therapeutic experience, Sarah collaborates closely with classroom teachers, speech language pathologists, physical therapists, behaviorists, and doctors. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that your child receives a comprehensive and well-coordinated treatment plan.

When Sarah is not transforming the lives of her young patients, she enjoys hiking, exercising, painting, and spending time with her two daughters and her husband.

Together, Sarah and her team are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities, empowering them to reach their full potential and thrive in all aspects of life.

"I am committed to helping children build confidence and independence as they work towards achieving their goals."
